Where to drop off recyclable wood?
Drop-off recyclable wood at any County Refuse Disposal Site. See Search disposal sites for locations. Remember that when visiting disposal sites, the cost for dropping off recyclable wood is much less than the cost for garbage.

What happens to my wood waste?
Sonoma Compost Company closed October 15, 2015. Recyclable wood waste collected from County Refuse Disposal Sites is being transferred from the Central Disposal Site and other transfer stations to an out-of-county composting facility at Redwood Landfill.
Will the municipal wood waste processing program ever return to Sonoma County?
The Agency is working on development of a permanent facility to allow composting, including wood waste processing, to return to Sonoma County for the long term.
