Local and state laws require garbage being transported in a vehicle to be covered in a manner to prevent dropping or spilling onto roadways. The State of California may issue a $1,000 fine for littering.
Tips when visiting disposal sites:
Only waste generated in Sonoma County is accepted at Sonoma County disposal sites!
Observe the posted speed limits on site.
For faster service, please have exact change ready; if paying by check, write it out to Sonoma County Refuse and be prepared to show appropriate identification.
Smoking is prohibited on site.
Keep children and pets inside your vehicle at all times.
Be careful when dumping. Unload refuse from the side of your vehicle and do not stand close to the edge of the pit.
