Christmas trees are recycled into mulch and compost.
Compost and mulch made from Christmas Trees is highly prized for its acidic qualities. Please take advantage of one of the three convenient recycling methods available to you.
Remember that in order for your tree to be recycled, it must be free of decoration, tinsel and stand (metal or wood). Flocked trees will not be accepted.
Residents have three options for recycling their Christmas Tree this year:
1. Cut the tree to fit in yard waste container.
Put your tree in your yard waste container and place at the curb on your regular yard waste collection day. The tree MUST be CUT TO FIT inside the container. Trees sticking out of the container can interfere with the lifting arm on the truck. Thank you for your help.
Cloverdale, Healdsburg, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa, Windsor and unincorporated Sonoma County have whole tree collection. Place your unflocked tree beside your yard waste container on your regular collection day the dates of:
| Cloverdale | January 9, 2012 – January 13, 2012 |
