There
are three options for residents to properly dispose of toxics in Sonoma
County: the Household
Toxics Facility, Community
Toxics Collections and Toxics
Rover Pick up Service. Options are also available for businesses.
Every week there is a toxics collection somewhere in Sonoma County. Bring your ID to prove residency.
| Appointment: | By appointment only: To make an appointment, call (707) 795-2025/toll-free (877) 747-1870 option 3 or email toxicsdisposal@cleanharbors.com. Please provide the following information when calling or sending an e-mail: name, phone number, date and location of collection event, and preferred appointment time. Appointment line staffed M-F from 8am to 2:30pm or leave a message. Please make an appointment at least 24 hours prior to the collection event. Once the appointment request is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation with the address of the collection event. |
| Hours: | Tuesdays 4-8 pm |
| Location: | The locations for Community Toxics Collections vary. The location will be announced after you make your appointment. |
| Fees: | No fees for Sonoma County residents. |
| Transportation & packing: | State transportation laws limit each vehicle to a maximum of 15 gallons of liquid (with a maximum of 5 gallons per container) or 125 pounds of solid material • Never mix chemicals • Place in sealed containers in the trunk, packed to prevent spills • Syringes/needles must be in a sealed and labeled approved container. |
| Not accepted: | Explosives or ammunition • Radioactive materials • Biological wastes (except syringes) • Electronics • Controlled substances |
